How are indoor climate and work performance related? An ideal indoor climate has been proven to increase the willingness to perform and the sense of well-being. Especially in the office or home office, the indoor climate is therefore essential. The indoor climate experts at Climeo know how to create an ideal indoor climate at the workplace.

What should be paid particular attention to in the indoor climate in the office or home office?

The indoor climate is an interplay of room temperature, air humidity, air movement and air quality. These influence each other and must all be taken into account for an ideal room climate – ideally already in the strategic planning stage. Air quality and room temperature are the most important factors: We feel directly how warm or cold it is and whether the air is pleasant when we enter a room. This first feeling of the room has an immediate effect on our body.

Is there an ideal temperature for the workplace?

The ideal room temperature is an individual value – therefore, especially in open-plan offices, it is often difficult to adjust it to the needs of all workers. A guideline for the ideal room temperature in workspaces is values between 21 and 22 degrees. The limit of 20 degrees should not be undercut, and the limit of 26 degrees should not be exceeded.

What are the advantages of Climeo for the ideal indoor climate in the office?

The Indoor Climate System from Climeo consists of four innovative components: AirGate, TempGate, RoomMaster and FlatMaster. The two control units AirGate and TempGate measure and regulate air volume and temperature, while the RoomMaster displays the climate in all rooms. The FlatMaster controls all Climeo components connected in the household. The integrated air quality sensors in the Climeo system also measure various odours and pollutants in the room, which are used as indicators to regulate the air output. Climeo adjusts the room climate and thus increases well-being according to need.

Why do we ventilate in the workplace?

Old air is replaced with new air – thus an ideal oxygen balance takes place. To prevent concentration problems and fatigue, a needs-based solution is sensible and desirable; it also increases productivity.

Does a bad indoor climate harm us?

Particularly when we spend long and uninterrupted periods of time in enclosed spaces, a poor indoor climate can have adverse health effects. The first symptoms are: Headaches and aching limbs, colds and hoarseness, cold hands and burning eyes.

Are there any regulations regarding the indoor climate in workrooms?

In 2020, SECO laid down the following in an ordinance to the Labour Code: “All rooms shall be adequately ventilated, either naturally or artificially, in accordance with their intended use. Room temperature, air velocity and relative humidity shall be measured and coordinated in such a way as to ensure an indoor climate that is not detrimental to health and is appropriate to the type of work.” The SUVA and the SIA also issue binding instructions.
